A tyre-pressure monitoring system (TPMS) is an electronic system designed to monitor the air pressure inside the pneumatic tyres on various types of vehicles. TPMS report real-time tyre-pressure information to the driver of the vehicle, either via a gauge, a pictogram display, or a simple low-pressure warning light. TPMS can be divided into two different types – direct (dTPMS) and indirect (iTPMS). TPMS are provided both at an OEM (factory) level as well as an aftermarket solution. The target of a TPMS is avoiding traffic accidents, poor fuel economy, and increased tire wear due to under-inflated tyres through early recognition of a hazardous state of the tyres
If this light is on even though your tyres may be fine, you could have a fault with your cars system and you won’t know if there is a problem with your tyres when you need it most. Evans tyres can supply and fit new TPMS sensors as well as programming to the car if needed.
Evans tyres offer a free complimentary check on all TPMS senors this will aslo check the state the battery is in. Call us anytime to book in for your free service.
